I know we’re already a few days in, but Justin at Between Two Worlds has put together a list of Bible reading plans for the new year. Lots of them come in all sorts of convenient formats (email, RSS, iPhone or iCal, etc).
I was especially excited to see a couple of plans with 25 readings each month, which helps guard against despair that seems inevitable with missed days!
Our church is reading the bible together in a year… it should be interesting to see how much dedication there is for it. It’ll be a change for me as I have gotten used to reading about one chapter a day rather than 4 or 5. I’m going with a plan that has Old Testament, New Testament and a Psalm.
Thanks for the link – printed out some copies of one of them for people to take at Faith!
Agreed on the 25-Day plans. I successfully completed one a few years back and those extra ‘catch-up’ days were the grace I needed to reach the goal. I’m not sure I’ll ever shoot for a bible-in-a-year plan again, but if I do I will absolutely choose a 25-Day/Mo. plan.
